We have had the opportunity to work with McKenna Wilson since our very first free clinics in Coos Bay. As a three sport athlete in all four years at Coquille HS, Ms. Wilson has been a fixture of the Red Devil program. As a volleyball player, she has been the foundation of what has become a perennial program, leading the Red Devils to podium finishes each year, serving as team captain and selected as MVP in both her Junior and Senior seasons. As a basketball player, she was a staple of three teams that made appearances at the Oregon state tournament. Her achievements in Track & Field were perhaps most notable as she was a part of the 2017 Coquille women's team that recorded the highest finish in school history, reaching a PR in every event she competed in. Electing to compete at the NJCAA level next year, McKenna is our only Northwest Sports Scholarship finalist that will be competing in multiple sports at the collegiate level, serving on both the UCC River Hawks volleyball and track & field teams.

In addition to her many athletic achievements, Ms. Wilson is slated to graduate as her class Salutatorian with a 3.92 GPA and boasted the highest SAT scores of all our applicants.

VOTE WITH YOUR DOLLARS!

As our board evaluates each of our Northwest Athletic Scholarship finalists, we are giving you the chance to support your favorite athlete by donating to their collegiate experience. All donations made to athletes through the Northwest Speed School are tax deductible, with 75% going directly to each athlete by way of a cash scholarship and the remaining funds aimed toward our mission of bringing athletic equipment and expertise to low income, native, and rural athletes.
