Professional Approach 
 

Education

After finishing my Exercise Science degree in 2007, I started my fitness career as a personal trainer and wellness coordinator for the Adidas corporate fitness program in Portland, Oregon. Then, after returning to Seattle, I spent two years directing the fitness division for a northwest corporate wellness company.   In this position, I developed comprehensive personal training programs for multiple gyms, created employee incentive programs, managed on-site trainers and coaches, and conducted personal training and coaching sessions for groups and individuals. Ultimately I came to realize that what really inspires me is working one-on-one with my clients to help them realize their greatest potential. I started my own training business, Strategic Fitness and Health, in 2010 and I truly love what I do. It's both my job and my passion to help you dig deep and attain the highest quality of life possible!

 

Personal training isn't just for athletes and it isn't just for people who want to lose weight. I believe that everyone can benefit from working with a fitness professional to maximize functionality, minimize pain and injury, and optimize performance in all activities. To understand why injuries occur and how to prevent them, we must learn which muscle imbalances need addressing and where our strength and mobility deficits are present - and then train with a specific strategy.  My approach to personal training is to help my clients understand how to correct their biomechanics and movement patterns so that they are able to move more efficiently, without pain and with the best performance possible.


I know what it's like to suffer sports-related injuries - and the other things in life that lead to being out of shape. So I understand the work and commitment it takes to regain both the inner and outer strength of great health. My personal experience has been that the right exercise and nutrition creates a strong and healthy physique, along with increased energy, mood and vitality. I live what I teach and stay active lifting weights, running, wake surfing, snowboarding and chasing my dog around. I believe in the mind-body connection and love watching my clients get their energy and love for life back when they start to see the results of their hard work!
